Reddit Boss: I’ve spotted GameStop mania in late

Reddit Boss: I’ve spotted GameStop mania in late. Steve Huffman, the Reddit boss, informed BBC News that he supported a disputed WallStreetBets sub-redit.

A long-standing group fan, he said in January he was slow to see the effect on GameStop’s massive increase in share prices.

“I’ve been a bit late at the party because I couldn’t see Reddit leaking again into the real world,” he said.

Before falling the stock price of GameStop reached almost $500 (£350).

The computer game retailer’s stock was hyped by WallStreetBets.

The idea was that sufficient Reddit users could purchase GameStop shares, hurt hedge funds which had bet against the company.

Some argued that the group had manipulated the market collectively.

But Reddit chose to abandon it.

Mr. Huffman said: “We tried to keep WallStreetBets online.”

The media are often ignored when they talk about large social media platforms – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram – Reddit.

But as hedge funds learned during the share-price increase of GameStop – ignore that at your peril.

Reddit likes to consider himself different.

Surely it feels more alternative at its heart.

Your content upload system means either flying or dying ideas.

It is not for nothing called the web front page.

Mr. Huffman also got a major story this year – Donald Trump’s conspiracy theories about election fraud.

“What are you doing when the President does not live up to our country’s ideals?” Mr. Huffman said that. He said.

A leading sub-Reddit called TheDonald played a major role in the online hyping of Mr. Trump.

Last year Reddit prohibited it.

Mr. Huffman said that the moderation decision he had to make was the most difficult, BBC News told him.

Huffman, together with Twitter’s Jack Dorsey and Mark Zuckerberg, is one of a handful of men in Silicon Valley, who make huge decisions about what we can and can’t look at on the internet.

When did you meet WallStreetBets for the first time?

For briefness and clarity, the following interview was edited.

So for years, I have known WallStreetBets.

WallStreetBets is actually one of my culpable Reddit pleasures.

How much was the band laughing about?

Much of this, because I believe it is at the core of many friendships and experiences.

This community is fun and funny at the end of the day.

And there’s obviously cohesion, speaking of trade.
